It was either 1976 or 1977 that there was so much snow in Yosmeite Valley that it was decided to have the Yosemite Nordic Holiday Race in the Valley instead of at Badger Pass. The long course went from the Sentinel Picnic area by the 4 mile trail down to El Cap crossover and back. This photo shows the relay race in Leidig Meadow, Yosemite Valley
