Wawona Road Rehabilitation Project
(Hwy. 41: 28 miles of road work from the South Entrance to Yosemite Valley)
(June 1 - November 2010)
You can expect some long delays with some folks reporting that it takes at least 2.5 hours (many are saying 3 hours) to drive to Glacier Point from Yosemite Valley, normally a 1 hour drive.
Crews will be working at multiple locations along the Wawona Road with the
following delays Sunday night 11:00 pm through Friday night at 4:30 pm:

What, Where & Why: Repairs will be made to the historic Wawona Road beginning May 3, 2010 - November 2010. The purpose of this project is to perform standard roadway maintenance and repairs that if left uncorrected would result in further deterioration of the roadway.
Schedule of Delays: Multiple locations are being worked on regularly throughout the road corridor. Delays are scheduled to occur between Sunday nights at 11:00pm and Friday evenings at 4:30pm. Although delays are planned, slow travel through the construction zone may increase overall travel time beyond what is scheduled below.
**Due to ongoing work on the Glacier Point Road Project (see below) additional delays at the intersection of both the Wawona and Glacier Point Roads (Chinquapin) can be expected. Total delays on the Wawona Road may exceed 1 hour.
**Because multiple locations are being worked on throughout the project area, you may have multiple wait periods. Delays are listed as total wait/delay time throughout the 28-mile corridor.
